1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using SlideTranslate ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you do not have permission to access or use the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

SlideTranslate is a web application that allows users to translate their Google Slides presentations into multiple languages. The Service:

• Connects to your Google Drive account to access your presentations
• Uses Google Cloud Translation API to translate text content
• Creates translated copies of your presentations in your Google Drive
• Supports translation to English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Portuguese

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must:

• Create an account with a valid email address
• Provide accurate and complete information
• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Google Account Authorization

To use our translation features, you must authorize SlideTranslate to access your Google account. We use a restricted permission model for your privacy:

• We can only access files you explicitly select using Google's file picker
• We cannot browse, list, or access other files in your Google Drive
• We can read the content of presentations you select
• We can create new translated copies in your Google Drive
• You can revoke access at any time through your account Settings

By granting this authorization, you confirm you have the right to access and translate the presentations you select.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
• Translate content that is illegal, harmful, or offensive
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Use automated means to access the Service without permission
• Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
• Use the Service to process presentations you don't have rights to

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Property

The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by SlideTranslate and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

6.2 Your Content

You retain all rights to your presentations and content. By using our Service, you grant us a limited license to access, process, and translate your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

7. Translation Quality

Our Service uses Google Cloud Translation API for automated translations. You acknowledge and agree that:

• Machine translations may not be perfect or contextually accurate
• Translations should be reviewed before professional or official use
• We do not guarantee the accuracy of any translation
• You are responsible for verifying translation quality for your needs
• Technical, legal, or medical content may require professional translation

8. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

• Scheduled or emergency maintenance
• Updates and improvements to the Service
• Third-party service outages (Google APIs, Supabase)
• Events beyond our reasonable control

9. Fees and Payment

SlideTranslate is currently provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features or subscription plans in the future. Any changes to pricing will be communicated in advance, and you will have the option to discontinue use of paid features.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY
• FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
• NON-INFRINGEMENT
• ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF TRANSLATIONS

We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or available at all times.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SLIDETRANSLATE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
• Damages resulting from translation errors or inaccuracies
• Unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data
• Any third-party conduct on the Service

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the twelve months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SlideTranslate, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Content you submit or translate through the Service

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including:

• Breach of these Terms
• Fraudulent or illegal activity
• At our sole discretion for any reason

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or deleting your account through Settings.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts located in California.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SlideTranslate regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
